We have been busy creating a new display for our classroom.
We have been thinking about the fact that children around the world may have different lives to our own and we have used our drawing skills to create pictures of children in different clothes.
In Year 1, we know that whilst some children’s lives are very different to our own, there will also be some similarities between the way we live and the way a child from another country lives.
Here is our ‘children around the world’ artwork.
In Year 1, we are all really enjoying our Barnaby Bear topic work. Barnaby is a friendly teddy bear who loves travelling all over the world and sharing his adventures with us.
For the past three weeks, we have been learning about Barnaby’s adventures in the country of Norway. Here are just some of the things we have found about about this fascinating place-
- Oslo is the name of Norway’s capital city
- Norway gets very cold indeed in the winter months
- In parts of Northern Norway, there is no sunshine at all in the winter!
- The wildlife of Norway includes arctic foxes, reindeer and polar bears
If you would like to know more about Norway, please ask one of the Year 1 boys, or perhaps even do some research of your own.
We can’t wait to see where Barnaby ends up next! Perhaps it’ll be somewhere warmer…
